TULSA, Oklahoma -- Robert Barbosa’s two home runs powered Oral Roberts to a 15-5 victory over Western Michigan Sunday. The victory gave the Golden Eagles a three-game sweep of the Broncos.
Pitcher Seth Furmanek helped his own cause by hitting a three-run home run in the bottom of the first to put the Golden Eagles on top 3-0. Furmanek threw five innings and allowed three earned runs on six hits. He went 2-for-5 at the plate with four RBIs and three runs scored.
Barbosa smashed his first homer, a two-run shot; in the bottom of the second to give ORU a 5-2 lead. His second home run came in the sixth. That three-run blast put Oral Roberts up 10-4.
The Golden Eagles piled-on four runs in the eighth to pull away for good.
ORU will take on No. 7 TCU, at 7 p.m., Tuesday.
