OKBlitz.com Sports Director Dean Blevins has learned that OU receiver Ryan Broyles will play Saturday in the annual Red River Rivalry.
Head coach Bob Stoops said that Broyles’ status would be determined as practice went on this week. But two sources close to Broyles have confirmed that he is ready to play and will suit up.
OU Sports Information Director Kenny Mossman also confirmed that Broyles and injured safety Quinton Carter will both be in the starting lineup Saturday.
Broyles sustained a shoulder blade injury two weeks ago in the first quarter of the Sooners’ game against Miami. The injury was originally called a broken shoulder blade, but was downgraded to a hairline fracture upon further examination.
Broyles sat out last week’s game against Baylor, but still leads the Sooners in receptions, yards and touchdowns.
What will Broyles' return mean for the Sooners? Discuss that in the OKBlitz.com forums.
